About This Call

In reviewing our hopes and goals for the conference this year, we identified a need to have space to talk as a community about what it is like to develop, run, and maintain a MED-DBT treatment program.

After all, it is the in-practice clinicians and clinics that translate the brilliance of the MED-DBT methodology into real-world change for our clients.

So, we are asking you (yes, YOU) to consider submitting for a brief 10-15 minute presentation on how you are implementing MED-DBT.

Who Should Submit?

We are seeking submissions for all levels of care and settings, from the solo practitioners who are providing MED-DBT in the closest way possible given limitations, to the private clinics with 20 clinicians and 3 different levels of care, and the hospital affiliated residential programs.

We want to hear from different disciplines, including but not limited to:

  • Social workers
  • Therapists
  • Psychologists
  • Dietitians
  • Coaches with lived-experience
  • Academics
  • Medical professionals

Submission Requirements

If you are willing to (act opposite) and submit, please email Charlotte Thomas, cthomas@pacificpremiergroup.com with your bio and brief answers to these 5 questions by November 1st.

These questions will be the basis for all presentations in this section of the conference:

  1. How and when were you introduced to MED-DBT?
  2. What is your treatment setting?
  3. What did you need to modify, add in, or leave out to align with MED-DBT in your setting or with your client population?
  4. Are you gathering data, either subjective or objective, about your MED-DBT work?
  5. Which part of MED-DBT has made the biggest impact on your practice? As far as you know, how would your clients answer the same question?

About the Research Lightning Round

Our 2027 theme, "Weaving a Tapestry of Care," highlights the art and science of weaving a tapestry of care that meets the significant challenge of treating those with multidiagnostic eating disorders.

This year’s conference invites submissions that deepen our understanding of collaborative, compassionate, evidence-informed care. Together, we aim to strengthen the threads of integration and expand what is possible in helping clients build lives worth living.

For our Research Lightning Round, we invite quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, and implementation research in the area of treating multidiagnostic, complex and high-risk eating disorders through DBT.

We will be reviewing and selecting up to 4 abstracts to be presented at the 2027 MED-DBT Conference.

Individual paper presentations will be about 15 minutes each.

Review Process

To ensure scholarly rigor and equity, all Research Lightning Round submissions will undergo independent, masked (blind) peer review scored by a panel of reviewers.

Reviewers will rate submissions based on the following criteria:

  1. Significance and background quality
  2. Research design and quality of analysis methods
  3. Appropriateness to the mission of MED-DBT dissemination and enhancement
  4. Novelty and contribution to MED-DBT field

Submission Requirements

Please submit a MS Word file with:
